During orientation we will go over what to expect during class, give a tour of our training spaces, provide some information on our farm workshops and city services, and have some time for questions for our trainers. It’s a great time to get to know us, and for us to get to know you!

This class is required for anyone new to South Jersey Unleashed group classes. Orientation is just for humans, so please leave your dogs at home for this one.

Puppy Kindergarten is for all dogs four months to seven months old that are able to politely be around other pups on-leash and are looking to build their focus and obedience skills in a group class setting.

Each week builds from the class prior with exercises in skills like sit, stay, leave-it, loose-leash walking and place training to take home and practice with, plus an introduction to our dog sports and agility program at a fun and easy level for puppies and puppy owners to enjoy!

*Note: this class is not ideal for reactive dogs, but we do offer private training for folks who need help with lunging and/or barking while their dog is on leash.

All-Levels Obedience is for dogs seven months and up, looking to further their obedience training and prepare for our Rally Obedience Workshop or AKC Canine Good Citizenship testing.

In this class, we will build upon obedience foundations like sit, down, stay, leave-it and come when called, and loose-leash walking while adding some new cues to increase accuracy and focus and discussing the use of variable reward and alternative reinforcers to wean off of treats and apply our training to every day experiences.

We will strengthen our stays, increase distractions during recall, fine-tune our working and stationary positions, and practice greetings with people and dogs to improve manners and social skills. Be prepared to learn new games, tricks, and skill-oriented tips!

Have you ever watched dogs run through the obstacle course at dog shows or on TV and thought, “Hey, my dog would be great at that”? Or maybe you haven’t seen agility, but your crazy pup can jump over the couch and onto the countertop with the greatest of ease — either way, this class is for you!

In this high-energy, active class your dog will learn the foundations of agility and focus on basic obstacles including Jumps, Dog Walk, the Tunnel, the A-Frame, and the Table. This class is a lot of fun for dogs, while also reinforcing obedience training and focus on the owner’s cues. Graduates of this workshop are invited to take Agility Course Skills to build courses and practice this fun sport off-leash as their next level of training!

For graduates of Intro to Agility looking to further their agility training, Agility Course Skills will help teams build 5-15 obstacle courses through tricky sets, practice handling skills off-leash, introduce footwork and increase focus and speed through obstacles. We will also introduce the weave poles and the teeter at this level to be used in courses later in training.

*Evaluation for placement into this level available to those with previous Agility training – please email us for more information!

Private lessons at the farm are a great option for dogs who do not do well in group classes, owners who are looking for very specific training plans, or to fine tune and supplement group class exercises or activities from obedience or sports training. All private lessons are by appointment and throughout the week with one of our certified trainers at the farm.

For pups ages 8 weeks to 4 months, currently in rounds for vaccinations, looking to start training or address puppy-specific behaviors and develop individual training plans, we have one-on-one lessons available at our farm and as a virtual option!

These lessons are by appointment throughout the week and allow plenty of time for discussing basic obedience, housebreaking, crate training, voluntary husbandry behaviors, grooming and socialization.
